The Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program, affiliated with the Area Agency on Aging and Disability Network Northern Michigan, provides a complimentary health and benefit counseling service. Our knowledgeable counselors are available to assist you in applying for programs that reduce Medicare expenses, reviewing your Medicare plan, and addressing any questions you may have about Medicare.
Medicare Part D Extra Help Program
The Medicare Part D Extra Help Program assists in covering the costs of your Medicare drug coverage. With Extra Help, you can benefit from a reduced or entirely free monthly premium, resulting in lower pharmacy expenses. To qualify, your income and resources must fall below the following thresholds:

For singles: $1,823 income per month with resources not exceeding $16,660.

For couples: $2,465 income per month with resources not exceeding $33,240.
Medicare Savings Program
The Medicare Savings Program assists in covering monthly Part B premium costs and may extend to help with other Medicare expenses. Qualification is based on income and resources falling below the following thresholds:

For singles: $1,549 income per month with resources not exceeding $8,400.

For couples: $2,080 income per month with resources not exceeding $12,600.
