About The Local Interpreter Services Network (LIS'N)
The Local Interpreter Services Network (LIS'N) is a program by Grand Traverse Industries that offers interpreter services, information assistance, and advocacy. LIS'N also provides referral assistance and support for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing community.
LIS'N's services include:

Interpreting services: In-person interpreters offer support and advocacy for medical, mental health, educational, employment, and deaf-blind needs. LIS'N also provides American Sign Language interpreter services.

Information assistance: LIS'N offers information assistance for independent living resources and community supports. They also offer community access presentations in fields such as medical, mental health, legal, and educational interpreting.

Advocacy: LIS'N provides advocacy and information and referral assistance to community partners. LIS'N works in collaboration with the Disability Network or Northern Michigan and Michigan Rehabilitation Services.
LIS'N works in collaboration with the Disability Network or Northern Michigan and Michigan Rehabilitation Services. The Local Interpreter Services Network program regularly serves a 20 county area in northern Michigan. The program is not limited to this area and reaches as far as the upper peninsula of Michigan.
